Afghanistan v Pakistan ODI Series shifted from UAE to Sri Lanka

The three-match ODI series between Afghanistan and Pakistan was originally scheduled to be played in the UAE, but will now be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. 

The series, which is the first bilateral series between the two sides, will be played between September 1 and 5, as UAE grounds were not available due to the second phase of IPL 2021, which was temporarily scheduled. 

Gone and is expected to start on September 20.Earlier this month, the decision was taken to avoid a loss to the CPL schedule with the IPL, and the next edition of the PSL, in 2022, to avoid a clash with the Indian T20 League.  Was also configured for the January-February window. Hambantota Stadium last hosted the ODIs in February 2020, when Sri Lanka beat the West Indies by 161 runs. 

This will be the second time the stadium will be a neutral venue.  The last time the stadium was a neutral ground, Pakistan was part of that match, when they faced Kenya in the 2011 World Cup.Pakistan is currently preparing for the start of its tour of the West Indies, which starts with a five-match T20 series on July 27, followed by a two-Test series ending on August 24.
