Afghan team announced for the first regular cricket series between Pakistan and Afghanistan

The Afghan team has been announced for the first regular cricket series between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The venue of the series has also been changed. The series is likely to be held in Sri Lanka due to the IPL being held in the United Arab Emirates.  According to details, Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced the squad for the series against Pakistan.The Afghan team will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi. 

The 17-member squad includes Rehmanullah Garbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Siddique Atal, Rehmat Shah and Najib Zadran.  Apart from them, other players like Ikram Ali Khel, Shahid Kamal, Muhammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Azmat Umarzai, Rashid Khan and Abdul Rehman are also part of the team while Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Fazl-ul-Haq Farooqi and Noor Ahmed are also included in the team.  Has been The names of 4 reserve players for the series have also been announced. 

It was further informed that the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Afghanistan is to be held in Sharjah, however, due to the IPL being held in the United Arab Emirates, the Afghan Cricket Board has decided to change the venue of the series.Efforts are underway by the Afghan Cricket Board to hold the series in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has also been contacted regularly in this regard.

  It should be noted that this will be the first regular cricket series between Pakistan and Afghanistan to date.
